On December 5-11, 2021, Blue Mountain Zen Center completed its third in person seven day sessin with eight vaccinated participants.
On July 31, 2021 Denkei gave lay ordination to James Kenney (Dainin Doshin—Great Patience, Way of Heart) and Simone Brumis (Ko Shin Tetsu Ji— Calm Mind, Compassionate Wisdom). The ordination was a joyful and wholehearted event that confirmed James’ and Simone’s dedicated zazen practice and study of Dharma.
On March 31, 2022 BMZC concluded a six week practice period with a five day sesshin. Our first Shuso was Doshin James Kenney. The Shuso ceremony was a wonderful wholehearted event with many prior Shuso's in attendance from BZC as well as other members of James' larger Zen sangha.
