2022 WINTER PRACTICE PERIOD AT BMZC 

Blue Mountain Zen Center announces that it will hold its first practice period  beginning in March 2022 through the middle of April 2022. James Kenney will serve as Shuso or head student. The Shuso ceremony will take place on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Additionally, James Kenney will give Shuso talks on Sundays, March 13 and 20, 2022 at 9:50 a.m. If seeking to participate, please note that in-person zendo attendance is limited to those with proof of vaccination. If seeking to participate via Zoom, please contact Denkei Raul Moncayo bmzcelcerrito@gmail.com.

ROHATSU SESSHIN December 5-11, 2021

Please join BMZC for its Rohatsu Sesshin beginning at 6:00 am on Sunday, December 5 and ending on Saturday December 11 at 12:00 am. Please write Denkei if you'd like to attend in full or part time(two days minimum).

Blue Mountain Zen Center of El Cerrito cordially announces the reopening of Blue Mountain Zendo to the community for in-house zazen, zazen instruction, and the Sunday program. Please note that on account of continuing the sangha's health and safety, only those who have been fully vaccinated can be physically present in the Zendo. However, online participation will still be made available upon request.

The Zendo will be open for zazen, Monday through Friday at 6:00 a.m to 7:00 a.m. to be followed by morning service. Zazen and short service will additionally be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning at 11:30 a.m. until 12:20 p.m., and on Wednesdays and Fridays at 5:00 p.m. until 5:40 p.m. The zendo will be closed on Saturday but will reopen on Sunday beginning at 9:00 a.m. (See Weekly Schedule page for full description). If you would like to participate online please contact Denkei via text at 510-333-1644 one half hour prior to the start of zazen as indicated above.  For those who will plan on sitting on a consistent basis, Denkei will be available for dokusan interviews online. On December 5-11, 2021, Blue Mountain Zen Center completed its third in person seven day sessin with eight vaccinated participant

On July 10, 2021 Blue Mountain Zen Center held a three day sesshin and another three-day sesshin will be held on August 27, 2021. Please check the website for future sesshins coming up in the next few months.
